Ashish Sinha

From Kathmandu, Nepal, is guitarist and composer Ashish Sinha. For those who don't know, Ashish fronted the 'fusion' band 'Shristi' in the early 1990s and worked with a variety of foreign musicians, including Donovan Leitch, who is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (aka the Mellow Yellow man). In the late 1990s, Ashish's band performed on two separate US tours with the American band The World Colors. The Himalayas and the hippies that flocked to Kathmandu in the 1960s and 1970s both had an influence on Ashish's music. The flower children actually traveled to Kathmandu, and many were enchanted by the city's "unique and mystifying period." Ashish attempts to incorporate these elements from his perspective as a Kathmandu-raised individual.
