Nepali rock group Majipa was established in 2013. Since their debut performance at Moksh's International Music Day that same year, they have given numerous performances throughout Nepal. They began recording their album in 2014, and their debut song, "Birsideu," was made available in November 2016. However, only by 2017 were they able to finish and release their debut album due to a number of factors. Majipa writes songs ranging from soft rock, rock ballads, hard rock, and heavy metal, drawing inspiration from both contemporary and historical rock bands. The band discovered the word Majipa—which means Kathmandu—mentioned in the Swayambhu Puran.
